Rectangular Powder Amulet, “Altar-Table Reverse” Mould — Commemorating the 70th Birthday of Phra Samut Wachirasophon Wi. (Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro), Wat Chulamanee, B.E. 2569 (2026)

A rectangular powder amulet of the “altar-table reverse” mould was made to commemorate the 70th birthday (ayuwatthanamongkhon) of Phra Samut Wachirasophon Wi. (Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro), adviser to the Ecclesiastical Regional Governor of Region 15 and abbot of Wat Chulamanee, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province. It was distributed on 1 August B.E. 2569 (2026).

Description of the amulet

The obverse bears a full-figure likeness of Luang Pho Itthi seated in meditation. Behind him stands a Thai altar-table set (to mu bucha) — the feature that gives the mould its name — comprising a Buddha image seated on a spired pavilion at the top, flanked by a flower vase on either side, with candlesticks and offering stands stepping down below. A cartouche beneath the base is inscribed “Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro.”

On the reverse, the upper edge is inscribed “Lap Phon Phun Thawi” (fortune and fruits, abounding and increasing). At the centre is the Seal Yantra of Tao Wessuwan (379), also called the “layered Buddha” yantra — the same yantra that appears on the reverse of the temple’s Tao Wessuwan medal of the champi mould, B.E. 2545. The three numerals at the heart of the yantra carry these meanings:

• 3 — the Triple Gem (the Buddha, the Dhamma, the Sangha)

• 7 — the Seven Factors of Enlightenment (bojjhaṅga)

• 9 — the Nine Virtues of the Sangha

The sacred syllables ringing the seal signify protection by three divine guardians: Indra, Brahmā, and Kuvera (Tao Wessuwan). A full explanation of this yantra is given on the page for the “Tao Wessuwan Medal, Champi Mould, B.E. 2545.” Along the lower edge run four lines of inscription:

• Special “rainbow” powder (phong phiset “sai rung”) — 1,000 pieces

The sacred-powder version is an off-white powder body with flecks of coloured sacred material showing across the surface. The special “rainbow” powder version is a body of many powders blended into rainbow-like striations throughout, with the likeness and the altar-table set on the obverse finished in gold.
