Medal of the Two Preceptors of Wat Chulamanee, Traimat 67 Edition (B.E. 2567 / 2024)

The “Medal of the Two Preceptors of Wat Chulamanee,” the “Traimat 67” edition, is a two-sided oval medal bearing the portraits of Phra Upatchaya Nueang Kovito and Phra Upatchaya Itthi Bhaddacaro, the two preceptors (upatchaya) who carried on the line of governance and the ordination of monks at Wat Chulamanee, Samut Songkhram province.

The temple issued it as an auspicious keepsake presented to the faithful during the “communal Kathin” offering of the year B.E. 2567, with the purpose of raising funds to build a new entrance bridge for Wat Chulamanee. The consecration (Buddhābhiṣeka) rite was performed on 18 October B.E. 2567.

The medal

The medal is struck in an oval mould, its rim ringed with sacred syllables and yantra numerals, standing about 4 centimetres tall.

One face bears the half-length portrait of Phra Upatchaya Nueang Kovito looking forward, with the name “Phra Upatchaya Nueang Kovito” and the name of Wat Chulamanee inscribed beneath.

The other face bears the half-length portrait of Phra Upatchaya Itthi Bhaddacaro looking forward, encircled by the words “gains, fruits, growth, and increase” (lap phon phun thawi) and inscribed with the name “Phra Upatchaya Itthi Bhaddacaro.”

Every material in this edition carries a serial number, as stated by the temple.
