An ancient-cast portrait medal of Luang Pho Nueang Kowitho (Phra Khru Kowitsamutkhun), created on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro in B.E. 2560, to raise funds for restoring the monks’ quarters at Wat Chulamanee, cast from the sacred alloy and inscribed yantra plates of Luang Pho Nueang.
The ancient-cast medal of Luang Pho Nueang Kowitho (Phra Khru Kowitsamutkhun) was created by Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province, on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon (Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro), abbot of Wat Chulamanee, in the Buddhist year B.E. 2560 (2017 CE), for the purpose of raising funds to restore the monks’ quarters.
This edition was cast from the sacred alloy, old amulets, old takrut, and all the inscribed yantra plates of Luang Pho Nueang, by the ancient casting method.
Appearance of the Medal
The medal is oval-shaped, made by the ancient casting method (lo boran). The front bears a portrait of Luang Pho Nueang seated in meditation in full figure, with the words “(Nueang) Phra Khru Kowitsamutkhun” at the base. The back bears numeral-yantra syllables and an unalome yantra, together with the words “Wat Chulamanee … Samut Songkhram 2560.”
Consecration Rite
Reservations were open from 16 March B.E. 2560 onward. The edition was consecrated in a rite of auspicious victory at the ceremonial ground of Wat Chulamanee, with the amulets to be collected on 5 August 2560 from 7:00 a.m.
