The second-edition (ecclesiastical-rank promotion) medal of Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon (Luang Pho Itthi) of Wat Chulamanee, struck in B.E. 2552 (2009). Luang Pho personally oversaw its design and creation, and it passed through no fewer than 20 consecration rites.

The second-edition medal of Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon, or Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro, of Wat Chulamanee, was created on the occasion of Luang Pho's promotion in ecclesiastical rank. This set of medals was struck as early as B.E. 2552 (2009), with Luang Pho Itthi himself overseeing every step of its design and creation.

The Consecration

This set of medals was struck as early as B.E. 2552 (2009). Luang Pho Itthi then brought it into the consecration rite himself, again and again, no fewer than 20 times. During that period he was invited to join consecration rites on nearly every day, and wherever he went to empower amulets he would carry this set with him to empower through meditative resolve at almost every occasion. On certain auspicious days — such as Sao Ha (an auspicious Saturday) — he traveled to as many as three great rites at three temples in a single day, carrying this set with him every time; and so it is a medal that passed through the most intensive empowerment. The temple set its official release for veneration on 21 March B.E. 2553 (2010).

Preparing the Ceremony Ground (the Night Before)

A gallery capturing the atmosphere as the ceremony ground was prepared on the eve of the consecration rite — the arranging of the offerings and the ceremonial candle stand (phan thian chai), the enshrining of the images of Tao Wessuwan and of the Buddha within the ritual precinct, and the sacred objects wrapped in white cloth awaiting the rite of empowerment through meditative resolve.
