Tao Wessuwan Medal, Deva-Prince Aspect, “Na Thep” Pattern — Wat Chulamanee, B.E. 2561 (2018)

B.E. 2561

The Tao Wessuwan medal in the deva-prince aspect, the “Na Thep” (deity-faced) pattern, of Wat Chulamanee, made in the Buddhist year B.E. 2561, in several materials with the numbers made and reverence prices announced by the temple.

The Tao Wessuwan Medal in the Deva-Prince Aspect, “Na Thep” Pattern was created by Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province, in the Buddhist year B.E. 2561 (2018 CE). It portrays Tao Wessuwan in the deva-prince aspect, showing a countenance beautiful as a deva (hence called the “Na Thep,” or deity-faced, pattern), unlike the giant (yaksha) aspect commonly seen.

Appearance of the Medal

The front bears Tao Wessuwan in the deva-prince aspect, seated holding his club (mace) above a base, encircled by yantra syllables, with the name “Tao Wessuwan” below. The back bears a yantra and numeral-yantra syllables, together with the words “Wat Chulamanee · Samut Songkhram” and the Buddhist year B.E. 2561.
