B.E. 2559

A divine-image medal of Tao Wessuwan in the sake-leaf pattern, the “Phet Klap — Kathin 59 Memento” edition, created as a keepsake for the Kathin merit-gathering at Wat Chulamanee in B.E. 2559, consecrated in a solo devāphiṣeka meditation by Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro on Tuesday 18 October 2559.

The divine-image medal of Tao Wessuwan of the Cātummahārājika heaven, in the sake-leaf pattern, the “Phet Klap — Kathin 59 Memento” edition, was created by Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province, as a keepsake for the united Kathin merit-offering of the Buddhist year B.E. 2559. Devotees who joined as Kathin sponsors, contributing funds to support the temple, received this medal as a memento and an object of faith.

Appearance of the Medal

This edition is shaped like a “sake leaf” (a leaf form). The front bears a standing figure of Tao Wessuwan holding his club within a kanok-motif arch. The back bears the numeral “๑” and the words “Thewa Patima — Tao Wessuwan — Wat Chulamanee — Kathin 59.” Every material is stamped with the “Tek-Loeng” code and bears a serial number (except for certain materials). Its height is 4.5 cm including the loop (4.1 cm without the loop).

Consecration Rite

This edition was consecrated in a solo devāphiṣeka meditation by Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon (Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro), abbot of Wat Chulamanee, before the image of Tao Wessuwan at the ceremonial ground of Wat Chulamanee, on Tuesday 18 October B.E. 2559 (the 2nd waning day of the 11th lunar month, Year of the Monkey).
