B.E. 2560

The Thewasuwan Phrommasutithep Thada amulet set (ancient cast medal · stamped medal) and the Chakkraphat Trathirat takrut, created for the 60th birthday of Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon (Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro), B.E. 2560, consecrated in a grand Buddhābhiṣeka lasting a full 5 years (B.E. 2558–2562).

The Thewasuwan Phrommasutithep Thada Medal and the Chakkraphat Trathirat Takrut form an amulet set created by Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province, on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon (Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro), abbot of Wat Chulamanee, in the Buddhist year B.E. 2560 (2017 CE). The principal figure of the medal is Thewasuwan Phrommasutithep Thada, one of the aspects of Tao Wessuwan in the tradition of Wat Chulamanee.

Form and Design of the Set

This set comprises three forms of amulet: the stamped medal, the ancient cast medal, and the Chakkraphat Trathirat takrut. The front of the medal bears Thewasuwan Phrommasutithep Thada seated upon a throne, with several arms holding auspicious emblems; the back bears a yantra and numeral-yantra syllables. The Chakkraphat Trathirat takrut is a metal scroll inscribed and stamped with yantra syllables all around, made in both the 3-inch and 1.5-inch sizes.

Grand Buddhābhiṣeka of a Full 5 Years

This amulet set underwent mental resolve and a grand Buddhābhiṣeka rite lasting a full 5 years, from B.E. 2558 to 2562, the final grand Buddhābhiṣeka being held on Thursday 25 July of the Buddhist year B.E. 2562, at the ceremonial ground of Wat Chulamanee. The temple then opened reservations directly to the faithful, with the amulets received on 30 July B.E. 2562.
