2nd Army Area Thanks Donors Who Helped Build Roads Along the Thai–Cambodian Border
The Royal Thai Army's 2nd Army Area expressed its deep gratitude to monks and faithful members of the public — including Phra Khru Sophit Wiriyaphon (Luang Pho Itthi) — who donated funds and labour to build roads along the Thai–Cambodian border.
The 2nd Army Area published a message expressing its deep gratitude and sincere thanks to the monks and faithful members of the public who donated funds and labour to build roads and facilities along the Thai–Cambodian border. Among those named is Phra Khru Sophit Wiriyaphon (Somphot) — Luang Pho Itthi, Abbot of Wat Chulamanee.
Message from the 2nd Army Area
The 2nd Army Area wishes to express its deep gratitude and sincere thanks to Phra Thammawachirayanakosol, Luang Pho Bunchuai Punyawanto, Phra Khru Sophon Thammasarot, Phra Panyawachiramoli (Nopphon), Phra Khru Sophit Wiriyaphon (Somphot) and Dr. Panadda Wongphudee, together with all faithful members of the public, for jointly donating funds and labour to build roads and other facilities in the areas along the Thai–Cambodian border, in support of the Thai armed forces' mission to protect the nation's sovereignty along the Thai–Cambodian border.
The 2nd Army Area would like to clarify to the public that the Royal Thai Army has provided adequate plans and budget for this mission in accordance with official procedures and regulations. Nevertheless, everyone's generosity and firm resolve reflect the strength of patriotism, unity and concern for the nation's security.
The 2nd Army Area gratefully accepts everyone's goodwill and sincere intentions. However, the areas along the Thai–Cambodian border are still not fully safe, especially because of the danger of remaining landmines and explosives. At this time there are also several indications that may reflect movements by the Cambodian armed forces in planning military operations against Thailand in the near future. Strict measures are therefore necessary to control those entering the area to work, for their safety, which may cause some inconvenience.
The 2nd Army Area affirms that it will remain committed to protecting Thai soil to the fullest of its ability, worthy of the trust and support of all the people.
Phu Makhuea Road
Manager Online reported on 28 September 2025 that Phu Makhuea Road, on the Thai–Cambodian border in Kantharalak District, Si Sa Ket Province, had been completed. The concrete road will serve as a supply route and, in future, as a tourist route to Phu Makhuea. The report also carried the 2nd Army Area's message of thanks above.

Phra Khru Sophit Wiriyaphon (Somphot) in the 2nd Army Area's message is Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro, who now holds the ecclesiastical title Phra Samut Wachirasophon, Adviser to the Region 15 Ecclesiastical Council and Abbot of Wat Chulamanee.
