Ministry of Interior Honours Wat Chulamanee's Donation to Found the Samut Songkhram Provincial Fund
34,119,479.69 baht raised from the 121st-anniversary commemorative amulets was given to Samut Songkhram Province to establish the Samut Songkhram Provincial Fund.
The Ministry of Interior issued an announcement on the anumodana (rejoicing in merit) for a donation to assist government affairs, dated 22 September 2022 (B.E. 2565), offering its anumodana to Phra Khru Sophit Wiriyaphon, Ecclesiastical Head of Bang Chang Subdistrict and Abbot of Wat Chulamanee, for a donation made to assist the government in establishing the Samut Songkhram Provincial Fund.

Samut Songkhram Province reported that it had received funds raised from the creation of commemorative amulets for the 121st anniversary, from Phra Khru Sophit Wiriyaphon, Ecclesiastical Head of Bang Chang Subdistrict and Abbot of Wat Chulamanee, and Phra Khru Phaisan Kitchaphon, Assistant Abbot of Wat Chulamanee.
Total amount 34,119,479.69 baht (thirty-four million, one hundred nineteen thousand, four hundred seventy-nine baht and sixty-nine satang)

Having considered the matter, the Ministry of Interior recognised Phra Khru Sophit Wiriyaphon's intention to donate in support of government affairs, and therefore offered its anumodana for this wholesome intention, wishing him continued growth in the Dhamma of the noble Buddhist religion.

Phra Khru Sophit Wiriyaphon was the ecclesiastical title held at that time by Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro, who is now Phra Samut Wachirasophon, Adviser to the Region 15 Ecclesiastical Council and Abbot of Wat Chulamanee. In 2022 Wat Chulamanee created the Tao Wessuwan "Ong Phra Lak Mueang" medallion, commemorating the 121st anniversary of Samut Songkhram Province. See the Amulets section for details.
