The consecration (Buddhābhiṣeka) of the Tao Wessuwan Chatumaharachika Borommahachakkraphat images, in the bent-knee and straight-knee moulds cast after the B.E. 2532 (1989) originals, “Charoensuk 63” edition of Wat Chulamanee was held on Saturday 6 June B.E. 2563 (2020) at Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province.
This set of photographs records the open-air propitiation rite in the morning, the arranging of several hundred Tao Wessuwan images within the ubosot with the sacred cord strung along every row, the elder monks seated in meditation empowering the images beneath the case of the victory candle, the sprinkling of lustral water and the scattering of parched rice and flowers, as well as the offering of requisites to the elder monks who came to join the rite.
