Propitiation and Consecration of the Medallion of the Two Preceptors of Wat Chulamanee, “Traimat 67” Edition, B.E. 2567

A photo record of the propitiation and consecration (Buddhābhiṣeka) of the “Medallion of the Two Preceptors of Wat Chulamanee”, a memento of the B.E. 2567 communal kathin, the “Traimat 67” edition — Friday 18 October B.E. 2567 (2024) at Wat Chulamanee.
The propitiation and consecration of sacred objects was held on Friday 18 October B.E. 2567 (2024) at Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province.
The principal object consecrated was the “Medallion of the Two Preceptors of Wat Chulamanee” — Preceptor Nueang Koviṭo and Preceptor Itthi Bhaddacaro. The reservation notice states that it is “a memento of the communal kathin of B.E. 2567, the Traimat 67 edition”, created to raise funds for the construction of a new entrance bridge for Wat Chulamanee. The framed display set within the ritual enclosure gives the medallion’s size as 4 cm and lists some of the metals, including pure silver with serial numbers, 399 pieces.
This set records the preparation of the ritual enclosure and the running of the sacred cord throughout it; the open-air propitiation rite before the marble ubosot; the lighting of the victory candle; the brahmin reciting the invocation together with the conch, bandeau drum and gong; the offering of the midday meal; the senior monks seated in meditation in a long row, each with a bowl of lustral water and a candle at his place; and the extinguishing of the victory candle and the sprinkling of lustral water that closed the rite in the afternoon.
Besides that edition, gilded replicas of Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, disciple images, images of Tao Wessuwan in both wood and bronze, yantra cloths and sacred metal sheets bound with the sacred cord entered the same rite.
