The consecration (Buddhābhiṣeka) of the Chatumaharachika Phaya Tao Ruean coins, “Lap Phon Phun Thawi Ruai Thawon” edition, commissioned by Luang Pho Itthi Bhaddacaro of Wat Chulamanee, was held on Wednesday 15 January B.E. 2563 (2020) at Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province.
This set of photographs records the day from the setting up of the ritual pavilion — the raising of the ceremonial railing with tiered umbrellas and banners, the tying of banana and sugarcane stalks, the sacred cord strung throughout the pavilion, and the tables laid full with propitiation offerings — followed by the lighting of the victory candle in the glass case at the centre of the pavilion, the elder monks seated in meditation empowering the amulets in the evening, the sprinkling of lustral water over those who came to join, and the almsgiving stalls within the grounds.
