The Tao Wessuwan Special Set of Wat Chulamanee comprises Tao Wessuwan medals of the Champi Yai design from B.E. 2545 (2002), brought back to be re-stamped with new codes and individually numbered so as to distinguish them from other issues, produced in a limited quantity.
Its purpose was to devote all proceeds — without deducting any expense — to purchasing kitchen equipment offered to the Phuttho Meditation Centre in Kanchanaburi Province for use in the activities of the Sangha, in accordance with Wat Chulamanee's letter No. Special/2555, dated 12 January B.E. 2555 (2012), signed by Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon (Luang Pho Itthi), abbot of Wat Chulamanee.
The Merit of Offering Vessels and Provisions
Joining in the merit of offering vessels — plates, bowls, and provisions — brings three kinds of blessing: one comes to possess vessels of gold, of precious gems, of crystal, and of ruby; one's spouse, attendants, elephant troops, cavalry, chariot forces, and infantry all remain obedient; the necessities of life are ever complete and abundant; and whatever knowledge or sacred verses one has studied can be called upon in time of need without delay.
This is the great blessing that arises for the elder who is never sated in giving alms to the Sangha, never sated in offering charity in its many forms — one who must be counted wise in seeking merit, who overlooks no merit however small, and who, wherever there is a path to merit, acts without hesitation and with full devotion — a fine example for all of us who cultivate the perfections.
