A photo record of the propitiation of the nine planetary deities (navagraha) and the Noppakhro chanting rite at Wat Chulamanee — 23–24 December B.E. 2561 (2018), with the lighting of the large planetary votive candles, the making of holy water, and the elder masters seated in meditation.
The propitiation of the nine planetary deities and the Noppakhro chanting rite of Wat Chulamanee were held on 23–24 December B.E. 2561 (2018) at Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province.
This set of photographs records the open-air ceremonial ground set with its ceremonial fence and tiered umbrellas, the lighting of the large votive candles in the colours of the planetary deities, the elder masters seated in meditation beside the alms bowls of holy water bound with the sacred thread, together with the participants robed in white filling the pavilion, the free-food stalls, and the fireworks set off after nightfall.
