Date
23 December 2023 – 24 December 2023
A photo record of the Noppakhro rite for the nine planetary deities together with an amulet consecration at Wat Chulamanee — the enclosure of the nine planetary deities, the candles in their proper colours, and senior monks seated in meditation — 23–24 December B.E. 2566 (2023).
The Noppakhro rite for the nine planetary deities together with an amulet consecration was held over 23–24 December B.E. 2566 (2023) at Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province.
This set records the enclosure of the nine planetary deities, whose images were set in gilded frames each with a candle in its proper colour, the participants seated along long tables each with their own set of coloured candles burning throughout the rite, senior monks seated individually in meditation to empower the objects, the objects entering the rite — images of Tao Wessuwan, Buddha images and yantra cloths set out along the pavilion — and the evening scenes with the whole ground under strings of lights.
Among the objects consecrated on this occasion, one framed display reads: “The medallion of Khruba Prasoet Pavaro, Wat Nong Pla Man, Phrao District, Chiang Mai Province — the ‘Lap Phon Phun Thawi Mi Sap’ edition”, created and presented by Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon (Itthi Bhaddacaro), abbot of Wat Chulamanee.
