On Friday 14 October B.E. 2559 (2016) at 19:30, Phra Khru Sophitwiriyaphon, abbot of Wat Chulamanee, together with the monks and the King's loyal subjects, chanted the Abhidhamma for the royal funeral of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX) at Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province.
Inside the temple hall, a royal portrait in a gold frame was enshrined, with gold and silver flower cones, vases of white flowers and a set of candle-and-flower offerings placed before it. A monk lit candles and incense at the altar, attendees lit candles before the royal portrait, and the monks, seated in rows on white cloth, chanted the Abhidhamma, followed by the water-pouring rite. Those attending, dressed in black and white for mourning, sat with palms joined throughout the ceremony.
