Rite of Enshrining the Sacred Treasures and Raising Phra Phuttha Chinnarat onto Its Pedestal in the New Great Vihāra, Wat Chulamanee, B.E. 2566

A photo record of the rite of enshrining the sacred treasures in the pedestal and raising the Phra Phuttha Chinnarat image into place in the new great vihāra at Wat Chulamanee — Saturday 29 July B.E. 2566 (2023), at the auspicious hour of 13.10.
The rite of enshrining the sacred treasures and raising Phra Phuttha Chinnarat onto its pedestal in the new great vihāra was held at Wat Chulamanee, Bang Chang Subdistrict, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province, on Saturday 29 July B.E. 2566 (2023), at the auspicious hour of 13.10.
Before the image was raised, the monastic community performed the rite of enshrining the sacred treasures in the chamber at the centre of the pedestal: sheets of gold and silver were laid down as a base, then metal Buddha images and fragments of ancient stone images were set in place, followed by fired-clay votive tablets, reliquary caskets and glass vials of sacred material, inscribed gold plates, monastic robes and fired-brick fragments — all bound with the sacred thread and sprinkled with lustral water.
A crane then raised Phra Phuttha Chinnarat onto the pedestal, with monks, craftsmen and those who had come to join the merit steadying the image until it settled into place. The new great vihāra was still under construction at the time, its brick walls and scaffolding unfinished.
